"Autumn Woodland Tapestry of Colors and Texture" I have always enjoyed the Autumn season and taking pictures of trees and their Fall foliage right after a light fresh rain. We are looking into an opening in an Autumn tree line and seeing yellows and oranges. All the earth tones are gorgeous Fall colors. This image was taken in southern Illinois (near Marion). The only adjustment I made was in Nikon's View NX (RAW)

Classic Car and Vining Roads - A classic road trip in a classic car is a sure way for creating classic memories. What makes classics so great is that they have surveyed the test of time. And may even have been pulled back from the rust pile of history to play, ride and shine for a bit longer. This graphite drawing of a cute old car surrounded by adventure and memories gained while on roads and places along the way, was built through several phases. To me it represents a life lived with purpose and flexibility that makes the best of one’s time. You need to explore, experience and grow to earn classic memories. The memories gained from the journey through life’s experiences provide learning lessons needed for future solutions. It is these lessons lived and learned that make up the story of our lives. “wanna play a game” Sometimes the silent voice in my head just wants to play. Not that I am demonic and Halloween can certainly conjure up some very scary and spooky characters for the occasion. However, I see this little guy more of a mischievous imp that has been neglected by some evil gool. And for him to have any fun he must sneak about in the back black chambers of his dark dungeon and peek out around corners and crevices. Three geese are in the first steps of getting off the ground and into the air. The geese flew over and across a roadway and landed into a blue lake on an August afternoon outing at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.

This comes from a photo I had taken in the backyard a few years back. As I was deciding on which image to select for processing it became clear that “The Hummingbird of Color” was going to be the chosen one and got its chance to begin its transformation and now gets a chance to get out of the file folders and shine for all to see. A stained-glass effect developed through the vector art building process. I wanted a bright, playful stop-motion image of a flying hummingbird to highlight the wings in color and have the bright throat of the bird shine.

“Flowery 1935 Ford Pick-Up of Love, Peace and Be Coolness!” In these times, I just thought I would share a cool message of hope, peace and love. This illustration was built through a few stages to be ready to help spread some colorful “Peace, Love and Be Coolness” to all good people! The pre-concert festivities in the background would be in Carbondale, Illinois. It was a good night.
A Soft Pink and Crème Hollyhock_0165 "A Soft Pink and Crème Hollyhock_0165" is a hand-crafted painting rendered using Photoshop. My own photograph was used as the reference. I used Photoshop brushes and a Wacom Drawing tablet for this rendering. Every stroke and decision was made by me. I am looking forward to future work to see what art unfolds. I am excited to continue to explore this medium. I believe it helps with my overall confidence and development of my drawing/painting abilities. Of course, coming from a photographer, this is a challenge, but stirs my desire to work with more traditional forms of art production.

“Two Mallard Ducks in A Conversation” _ 0185_n400_tele Two vibrant feathered ducks are hanging out together in the water at the shoreline edge near an old tree leaning out over a lake shoreline on the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds property. I wonder if they are discussing the quality of the grub in the lake or if they need to fly to another lake. They really did seem to being well and healthy.

Along with providing photo restoration services, I am a photographer, and as a visual artist I like to combine my photography with my graphic design skills to create my works of art.

Having grown up in the town of DuQuoin, this Illinois State Fairgrounds has provided me with a lifetime of experiences.
